‘Queer’ Director Luca Guadagnino Vows to Fight Bans, Censorship

As the Awards Season fast approaches, filmmakers are using the opportunity not only to promote their films, but also to express their hopes for the industry’s future. One filmmaker who has recently become especially vocal about his wishes for the future of cinema is Luca Guadagnino. The director’s latest film, Queer, is an adaptation of the William S. Borough novel of the same name that follows Lee (Daniel Craig), an American Expat wandering around 1950s Mexico City who becomes entranced by another younger man named Eugene (Drew Starkey).
