Jennifer Lawrence is making a dramatic return to acting following her performance in the 2021 film, Don’t Look Up. Although her last project, helmed by Adam McKay, received four Oscar nominations, most of the audience wouldn’t call the movie an intense character study. However, that’s where Causeway will be different for the immensely successful actress. The film follows a US soldier who suffers a traumatic brain injury while fighting in Afghanistan and struggles to readjust to life back home. Causeway will give Lawrence plenty of opportunities to shine and display her talent, with MovieWeb calling the film a “sensitive character study, giving its actors some of the richest and most complex roles we’ve seen them play in a while.”
