It’s been 30 years since What’s Love Got to Do with It was released in theaters, and lead star Angela Bassett is looking back upon playing Tina Turner in the film. Originally released on June 25, 1993, the biopic brings to life the story of Turner’s rise to fame while chronicling her troubled relationship with Ike Turner (Laurence Fishburne). Along with performing well at the box office, the film also saw both Bassett and Fishburne getting nominated for Academy Awards for their performances.
