In 2018, there was an idea. One that saw spinoff movies featuring classic Spider-Man villains. Starting with Venom, the Sony Spider-Man Universe (SSU) was off to a shockingly good start. However, outside of the Tom Hardy-led film series, a host of dumpster fires – Morbius and Madame Web – failed to ignite excitement in the new cinematic universe. For a moment, not all hope was lost, as Kraven the Hunter looked to release this week and shock the world with a good film. However, it seems the future of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will be out like a light soon enough.
