Amazon Taps Former Netflix Exec to Revive Legendary United Artists Label

Amazon MGM Studios is reviving a legendary movie studio, and a former Netflix executive has been tasked to lead the revival. United Artists is the movie studio that produced such classics as Rain Man and housed the James Bond and Rocky movie franchises. A movie has not been released under the United Artists banner since 2015’s Hot Tub Time Machine 2, but that is all set to change. As reported by Variety, Amazon MGM Studios has reached a new agreement with former Netflix executive Scott Stuber to helm the revival of the legendary studio. Scott Stuber is the former head of film at Netflix and has helped secure original film productions on the streaming platform. Martin Scorsese, Bradley Cooper, and more were all enlisted by Stuber to direct films for the platform.
