The news that Johnny Depp’s long and very public legal battles with Amber Heard seem to have been settled has seen fans of the actor campaigning for his return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as Captain Jack Sparrow. While Depp previously stated that he would not be interested in reprising his role due to the way Disney dumped him while he was embroiled in accusations leveled at him by Heard, it seems that Pirates long-time producer Jerry Bruckheimer has not given up hope of getting Captain Jack back to the franchise one more time. In a recent interview he responded to the question of whether Depp’s character would be brought back for one more run out just for the purpose of killing him off. Bruckheimer had a somewhat humorous response, telling The Hollywood Reporter:
