The animated feature Strange World didn’t have the strongest showing in theaters with its Thanksgiving weekend premiere. At the end of the weekend, the film is looking at a domestic haul of $18.6 million, a number that’s considerably low for a big-budget animated movie from Disney. Deadline reports that with production and marketing costs reaching $274 million for the production, Disney is set to lose nearly $150 million with the film’s box office shortcomings.
