The actor stars in the new film The Banshees of Inisherin which screened at the Venice Film Festival. Farrell and his fellow cast and crew were met with tremendous applause when the film was over, with journalists present reporting that the screening sparked a 13-minute standing ovation. This is said to be the biggest response yet for any film at the festival, though Brendan Fraser’s The Whale had also garnered a very enthusiastic response.
