After 118 days on strike, the SAG-AFTRA strike for Hollywood actors has concluded in favor of the workers with a 7 percent increase in wage minimums. Shortly after their victory, Actress and SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher and Executive Director and Lead Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland have revealed how they achieved the historical deal (via Deadline). Following their sister union, the WGA, who ended their strike in September after attaining a wage increase, SAG-AFTRA members initially went on strike earlier this year in July due to low residual payments and fear of potential exploitation from artificial intelligence (AI) used by various Hollywood studios, represented by the AMPTP.
